Information We Collect
- Google sign-in account data, such as your Firebase user ID, name, email address, and profile photo when provided by Google.
- Uploaded receipt images and PDF files that you choose to submit.
- OCR extracted text from uploaded receipts and PDFs.
- AI-parsed receipt, coupon, warranty, item, and store fields, including item names, prices, quantities, dates, store names, store addresses, taxes, discounts, bill numbers, warranty dates, and coupon details.
- Approximate or coarse location information that you provide or permit so we can generate local price intelligence.
- Device tokens and notification preferences used for reminders and app alerts.
- App logs, diagnostic data, usage analytics, and security events used to operate and improve BillzWise.
- Questions sent to the AI help assistant and support, feedback, or suggestion messages you choose to submit, including an AI conversation only when you opt to attach it.
How We Use Information
- To create your private receipt history, spending summaries, coupon reminders, warranty reminders, and savings insights.
- To extract and structure receipt details using OCR and AI services.
- With your explicit contribution consent, to generate local price intelligence from limited, privacy-protected comparison observations.
- To detect abuse, prevent duplicate processing, debug errors, and improve app reliability.
- To send notifications you enable, such as coupon or warranty reminders.
- To answer product questions, investigate support requests, and use feedback or suggestions to improve BillzWise.
Data Processors
BillzWise uses service providers such as Firebase, Google Cloud, OCR and AI services, hosting providers, email delivery providers, and analytics or logging tools. These providers process data only to help us operate BillzWise features.
Optional Comparison Contributions
New bills are private by default. During review, you can explicitly choose whether an eligible bill contributes a limited comparison observation. The decision is recorded with a policy version, and pharmacy contribution remains disabled.
An eligible comparison observation contains canonical item or supported diagnostic-test identity, normalized price and unit, broad area, provider ID where appropriate, observation date, quality flags, consent version, and scoped one-way pseudonyms. Diagnostic observations may include allow-listed matching attributes such as sample type, body part, modality, and contrast use.
What Is Excluded From Comparison Observations
- Original receipt images and PDFs, full private receipt history, and directly reusable receipt identifiers.
- Your name, email address, Firebase user ID, or account identity.
- Raw item and store names, contact details, invoice identifiers, and insurance details.
- Patient and doctor details, diagnoses, and prescription details.
- Personal account settings, device tokens, and notification data.
Retention
BillzWise retains receipt, account, and submitted support or feedback data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Original receipt files may be removed according to our retention settings while structured receipt records remain available in your account. Deleting a receipt or revoking contribution voids its active comparison observations. Account export and deletion include support requests linked to your user ID. Non-identifying aggregate statistics may remain where they can no longer be linked back to your account.
User Rights
- Download an export of your account data from Settings.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate account or receipt information.
- Delete receipt/app data from the app where available.
- Revoke prior comparison contributions from Settings.
- Permanently delete your account through the self-service Settings control.
- Withdraw consent for optional processing such as comparison contribution, location-based features, or notifications.
- Raise a grievance using the grievance contact below.
Children and Minors
BillzWise is not intended for children or minors. Please do not use BillzWise if you are not legally able to consent to this policy in your jurisdiction.
